Gastroenteritis and dehydration

Also known as infectious diarrhea, is inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract—the stomach and small intestine due to some virus , bacteria or parasite. This causes trouble in eating and absorption of nutrients and water which may result in dehydration as well.

 

Symptoms

Symptoms may include

•    Diarrhea
•    Vomiting
•    Abdominal pain
•    Fever
•    Lack of energy
•    Dehydration may also occur, such as dry skin and a dry mouth, feeling lightheaded, and being really thirsty.
This typically lasts less than two weeks.
