Dean Office (Postgraduate Medical Training)
RMI has a history of excellence in medical care & education since its inception. We are offering a wide variety of Postgraduate training programmes since 2006 under the supervision of renowned and competent physicians and surgeons from all over Pakistan. Our teaching hospitals meet all the criteria of College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP), as per PMC policy. Post graduate training of our young doctors is designed in such a way that our future specialists display the highest standards. These specialists will not only be highly accomplished clinicians but also medical educators, leaders, critical thinkers and researchers of international standards.

- To emphasize not only on imparting medical knowledge and skills of highest standards but also to inculcate ethical and professional values, in our future clinicians, teachers and researchers, thinking and analysis.

To establish the highest level of specialist training for doctors and dentists who exhibit competency, professionalism and leadership at par with international standards.
GOVERNANCE
Dean RMI Postgraduate Education is the academic head of the Institution and oversees the various training programmes. He formulates the policy for induction, smooth conduction of training aligned with the vision and outcomes of both Institute as well as the Degree awarding entity and PMC standards.
He ensures trainee wellbeing and supports them to achieve their goals. The training oversight committee is chaired by the Dean that has relevant representation of trainers, trainees and hospital administration. Dean facilitates accreditation of new specialties and supervisors by closely working with the HoDs and Consultants.
All the departmental HoDs, supervisors and trainees work as a team. CEO meets the Dean every three months and is presented a report on all trainee related matters and future plans.

Teachers' Training
The primary aim of teacher training activity has been to create awareness of educational concepts among the teachers/faculty/Supervisors of health sciences through workshops. The Postgraduate study centre has actively involved in creating and developing a pool of educators trained in educational methodologies and the art of facilitation.
Faculty Development
This setup has been taken in an effort to develop faculty trained in the science of education. Proper Ensure Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program for supervisors is in place to develop their capacity.
Training of Post Graduates
The postgraduate trainees of the college are made to attend the workshops during their training periods with the aim to train the candidates in difference aspects to help them improve their skills and to facilitate in research. The Continuous Professional development Program like leadership, principles of management, professionalism ethics and medical education/ teaching strategies/ Research/Biostatistics
Curriculum Development
The Department is involved in providing guidance and advice to the members of the CPSP specialist faculties in reviewing the objectives/Competencies/EPAs and assessment.
Development of Teaching / Learning Material
The Department has been very active from the beginning in the development of various teaching learning material required in the context of workshops to improve classroom environment by providing support and assistance to the educators with the presentation and transmission of educational content and the achievement of educational objectives. The teaching-learning materials are put into practice with the primary objectives of imparting learning among students regarding the academic concepts and enabling them to achieve their goals and objectives
Post Graduates Assessment
The faculty of the centre is actively involved in improving the quality of certifying the examinations administered by the college.
1. Written assessment (Short essay questions and one best type MCQs) once in six months.
2. Long case and TOACS twice a year (Local faculty members from other hospitals to be examiners).
3. Devise course outline for six months in coordination with Director Academics/Medical Education
4. Ensure that assessments cover knowledge, skills and attitudes
5. Assessment utility”, including use of multiple assessors
6. Appropriate balance of formative and summative assessment
7. Implement pre, per, and post- exam quality assurance procedures in assessment

Monitoring/Evaluation
Here is a proper monitoring system to monitor academic activities of the trainees. The survey forms (360o evaluations) that have been developed include assessment of trainees by the trainer and assessment of training by the trainees.
Research and Development
Organizes and conduct workshop on dissertation writing for the candidates of fellowship examinations.
Provides advices to the trainees of fellowship examination in conducting a research study and analyzing the results.
Continuing Medical Education
The Postgraduate studies actively support trainees and supervisors in their continuous professional development through an organized system of educational activities. Furthermore to provide quality learning experiences to all tiers of medical and dental professions to help them up-date and enhance their performances in clinical practice and academic roles to achieve the ultimate goal of optimal patient care.
