Dr. Humaira Achakzai

Dr. Humaira Achakzai is associated with Rehman Medical Institute (RMI) as consultant physician with special interest in diabetes and rheumatology. She is also serving RMI's undergraduate education wing as associate professor and focal person.

She comes from army medicine background with 10 years of service in the army medical corps after graduating from armed forces medical college. Dr Achakzai remained a high achieving officer, topping the basic military training course. She has served as in-charge of cardiac ICU and family wing at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Peshawar.

Dr Achakzai has travelled to many remote areas to provide medical services to underprivileged women and children. She eventually retired as a young major from the Pakistan Army in the interest of her family and moved to the civil side. 

She is College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) approved supervisor for general medicine for postgraduate. Dr Achakzai has keen interest in research and has published several research papers in high-prestige research generals.
