Ventricular septal rupture (VSR) is a rare but lethal complication of a heart attack in which the blood supply to heart is stopped and the wall between heart chambers is extremely affected. As a result, the wall becomes weak and tears apart. It usually occurs after few days of heart attack because of the weakened condition of heart. It is the most dreaded complication after a heart attack as it has a high rate of deaths in heart patients.
Symptoms:
• The patient may seem comfortable early in the disease.
• Chest pain
• Fluid collecting in the lungs
• Shock may later develop abruptly.
• Abrupt changes in blood pressure, mostly stays low
• Heart attack and difference in heartbeat rhythm
