Cancer Awareness

Cancer Awareness
16 February 2021

Cancer arises when abnormal cells rapidly multiply due to inherited genetic or external factors. According to the WHO, there are five external factors contributing to one-third of cancer deaths namely obesity, poor diet, lethargy, smoking and alcohol abuse. Therefore, experts and masses have started raising awareness for the prevention of cancer. For this purpose, World Cancer Day is commemorated annually on the 4th of February to raise awareness against cancer's preventable suffering. Similarly, International Childhood Cancer Day is observed every 15th of February to show support for, and raise awareness about, children currently fighting cancer, survivors of this deadly disease and their families. The burdens that come with cancer can be physically, emotionally and financially exhausting. However cancer can be easily prevented by adopting a healthier lifestyle and getting general check-ups regularly. Experts at RMI emphasize early diagnosis and treatment for efficient and speedy recovery of the patients. For cancer management, RMI has diagnostic and treatment facilities under one roof such as X-ray chest, CT Scan, Biopsy and cancer treatment facilities.
We must acknowledge various stakeholders' contributions worldwide to advocate early cancer diagnosis and improve access to cancer treatment for patients. We should also pledge to reduce cancer risk factors and encourage its prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment. If you or your loved ones are concerned about cancer, our RMI experts recommend not delaying your appointment.
