 RMI Education Launches Certificate in Health Professions Education Program

Rehman Medical Institute (RMI) Education has officially launched the Certificate in Health Professions Education (CHPE), a new initiative designed to enhance the teaching skills of faculty members in healthcare institutions. 

The program, which is affiliated with Khyber Medical University (KMU), aims to support the professional development of healthcare educators and improve the overall quality of teaching in healthcare fields.

The launch event, held at RMI, was attended by prominent figures from KMU, including Prof. Dr. Zia Ur Rehman, Vice Chancellor of KMU. During his address, Prof. Dr. Zia urged the importance of CHPE certification in raising educational standards across healthcare institutions. 

He also announced plans to make the certification mandatory for all teaching staff at healthcare institutions, ensuring that faculty members meet the necessary qualifications for effective teaching. Furthermore, he expressed KMU's commitment to working closely with RMI to introduce additional diploma and certificate programmes that could further enhance academic offerings in healthcare education.

Among the attendees were Director of Rehman College of Nursing (RCN), Seelay Srak Rehman, along with faculty members and principals from Rehman Medical College, Rehman College of Dentistry, RCN, Rehman College of Allied Health Sciences, and Rehman College of Rehabilitation Sciences. 
CEO RMI, Shafique Ur Rehman, spoke about the importance of training faculty to improve student learning. He stated that the CHPE programme would focus on faculty from RMI-affiliated institutions, with the goal of ensuring immediate improvements in education quality.

Dr. Mohammad Bin Afsar Jan, Dean of Allied Health College, also highlighted that the program marks a significant step forward in enhancing healthcare teaching and advancing education standards. This new initiative from RMI represents a strategic effort to build stronger healthcare education systems and better prepare educators to meet the needs of future healthcare professionals.
