 ICHR-24 kicks off with governor's emphasis on modern research

The 2nd International Conference on Health Research – 2024 (ICHR-24) commenced at the Rehman Medical Institute (RMI) with an opening ceremony graced by the presence of Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Haji Ghulam Ali. 

Emphasizing the importance of modern research in addressing global health challenges, Governor Ghulam Ali lauded RMI and its founder, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rehman, for their contributions to healthcare and education in the region. Ali expressed hope that ICHR-24 would play a pivotal role in tackling the country's disease burden through research and innovation and pledged full support to foster a research culture.
"Modern research is fundamental in addressing the intricate health challenges we face today," remarked Governor Haji Ghulam Ali. "I admire RMI's commitment to improving the health sector through research and development."


Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rehman, Chairman of RMI, highlighted RMI's role as the region's first modern hospital offering state-of-the-art healthcare facilities. He underscored RMI's contribution to training thousands of healthcare professionals now serving across Pakistan and its dedication to revolutionizing health through research and innovation.


With over 800 researchers from Pakistan and abroad, including Iraq, Iran, Somalia, and Qatar, ICHR-24 spans three days, featuring research exhibits, scientific discussions, research corners, and workshops showcasing advancements in the healthcare sector. During the inauguration, Governor Ali visited the research exhibits, interacted with students, and encouraged them to continue seeking innovative healthcare solutions.


Hosted by RMI and Rehman College of Dentistry (RCD), the conference will continue for three days, featuring keynote speeches, panel discussions, and research presentations. The opening ceremony was attended by CEO RMI Shafique Ur Rehman, COO Col. Muhammad Tariq Khan, RCD Principal Ghulam Rasool, ICHR-24 Chairman Dr. Naseer Ahmad, Associate Dean RMI Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Wahid, Dean RMI Dr. Shahzada Bakhtyar Zahid, and staff members and students.
