Dr. Yasar Mehmood Yousafzai

Dr. Yasar Yousafzai has been involved in diagnostic pathology for more than a decade. He received Pathology training at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Center and FCPS-II (Haematology) training at Hayatabad Medical Complex, Peshawar. He earned a post-graduate diploma in Evidence Based Medicine & Research and PhD Haematology from the University of Glasgow, UK. 

At RMI, Dr Yousafzai runs department of Molecular Haematology- a dedicated pathology unit for diagnosis and monitoring of blood diseases (blood Cancers, Thalassaemia etc) using specialized diagnostic techniques.

Awards/Honors

In 2016, he was awarded the status of ‘Honorary Research Fellow’ of the University of Glasgow.

He is a awardee of the American Society of Haematology ‘ Visitor Training Program’. 

Published his work in the prestigious journal “Blood” and Haematological which carries highest impact factors in Haematology. He has presented his work at various national and international conferences.
