Prof. Dr. Iqbal Muhammad

Brig (rtd) Dr. Prof. Iqbal Muhammad comes from background of army medicine. After his retirement, he joined Rehman Medical Institute (RMI) as Professor Pathology and Consultant Histopathology and Cytopathology in September 2017. 

He did MBBS from Army Medical College Rawalpindi in December 1983 then a diploma in clinical pathology in 1989 from Armed Forces Post Graduate Medical Institute. After serving various military hospitals and field units as a junior pathologist, he qualified FCPS in histopathology with distinction and was awarded three gold medals for outstanding performance. 

Prof. Dr. Iqbal served as a consultant histopathology and head of laboratories services at various military hospitals including Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Bahawalpur, CMH Peshawar and CMH Quetta. After 2011, he served the Army Medical College as Associate Professor of Pathology and HoD histopathology for three years. In 2013, he joined Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP), Rawalpindi, as Professor of Pathology and HoD Histopathology, Cytopathology and Molecular Pathology Departments.

Apart from clinical practice, he has vast experience of teaching under and post graduate students in MBBS, BDS, MLT, MCPS, FCPS, M PHIL, PhD. He was awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz [star of excellence] Military SI (M) for his meritorious services in field of Pathology.
