Type 1 diabetes is also known as type 1 diabetes mellitus or insulin dependent diabetes. In type 1. Diabetes the immune system is activated to destroy the cells of pancreas which produces insulin. Through insulin hormone, the glucose enters into the cells to provide energy. It usually appears during childhood or adolescence that is why it is also called Juvenile diabetes.
