Hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state earlier known as hyperglycemic hyperosmolar nonketotic coma (HHNK) and nonketotic hyperosmolar syndrome (NKHS) is a severe medical condition that arises from the complication of type 2 diabetes mellitus which leads to reduced fluid intake.

Modification of fluid deficit, electrolyte abnormalities and intravenous insulin
