Head and neck cancers

A group of cancers that includes cancer in larynx, throat, lips, mouth, nose and
salivary glands. Such type of cancers develops in the squamous cells of head and neck that are the cause of moist and mucosal surfaces of head and neck region.

Symptoms

Oral cavity: unusual bleeding or pain in mouth, patches on gums, tongue or lining of the mouth, swelling of jaws.

Pharynx: trouble breathing or speaking, difficulty swallowing, prolonged pain in throat,
headache, pain or ringing in ear, trouble hearing.

Larynx: pain while swallowing or ear pain

Salivary glands: swelling under the chin or around the jawbone, numbness or paralysis of the muscles in the face, or pain in the face, the chin, or the neck

  • chemotherapy
  • targeted therapy or combination of treatments.
