Backache and Degeneration Spine Disease

Degenerative disk disease is when normal changes that take place in the disks of your spine cause pain. Spinal disks are like shock absorbers between the vertebrae, or bones, of your spine. They help your back stay flexible, so you can bend and twist. As you get older, they can show signs of wear and tear.

 

Symptoms:

•  Moderate continuous low back pain
•  Painful aches at the site of a damaged disc is the most common symptom of a degenerative disc
•  Pain may spread to the buttocks, groin, and upper thighs

 

Treatment:

Pain medications, typical pain medications used to treat the low back pain include acetaminophen, NSAIDs, oral steroids, narcotic drugs, and muscle relaxants.
