9th RMI Media Cricket League 2025!

The 9th RMI Media Cricket League 2025 commenced with a vibrant and energetic opening ceremony at the Qayyum Sports Complex, Peshawar. The event marked an exciting start to a tournament focused on sportsmanship, unity, and community engagement. It brought together media professionals in a lively and competitive environment. As a result, the ceremony set a positive tone for the matches ahead.

The league was officially inaugurated by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Afridi. He formally opened the tournament by playing the first ball. This symbolic gesture highlighted the government’s support for sports and community initiatives. Moreover, his presence added significance and prestige to the event. Therefore, the opening ceremony reflected a strong commitment to promoting healthy activities in the province.

The ceremony was attended by several prominent figures. These included CEO RMI, Shafique ur Rehman, along with Provincial Minister for Finance Muzzammil Aslam. In addition, Minister for Sports Taj Muhammad Tarand, Minister for Local Government Meena Khan Afridi, and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information Shafi Jan were also present. Furthermore, Director General of Sports Tashfeen Haider and representatives of the Peshawar Press Club attended the event. Their participation demonstrated strong institutional support for the league.

This year’s RMI Media Cricket League features 20 participating teams from the Peshawar Press Club. The tournament aims to foster sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive engagement within the journalist community. In addition, it provides a healthy and competitive platform for media professionals to connect beyond their professional roles. Consequently, it strengthens relationships and encourages collaboration.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Shafique ur Rehman reaffirmed RMI’s ongoing commitment to promoting health and wellness. – Selection shall be based on:
– Merit as per MBBS marks
– Minimum six months job experience after House Job
– Preference will be given to candidates having relevant experience
– Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI)
– Preference will be given to RMC graduates
