Building Skills. Advancing Care at Physical Therapy
The Department of Physical Therapy at RMI has successfully concluded its three-month Physical Therapy Internship RMI Program (Batch 37). This program provided structured and comprehensive clinical rotations. Internees gained hands-on experience in IPD, OPD, and several specialized units. These included Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Gynecology, Neurology, and Cardiology. As a result, participants were able to develop practical skills in diverse clinical settings. Moreover, the rotations ensured exposure to a wide range of patient care scenarios.
In addition, the physical therapy internship program brought together internees from leading institutions across Peshawar. These included Iqra University, Noor College of Sciences (NCS), Institute of Health Sciences (IHS), and the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (IPMR). Furthermore, students from Iqra University Swat also participated. This diversity created a collaborative learning environment. It also encouraged knowledge sharing and professional networking among students from different academic backgrounds.
Throughout the physical therapy internship at RMI, participants remained actively engaged in academic and clinical activities. For instance, they took part in journal clubs and in-service training sessions. These sessions were designed to enhance critical thinking and clinical reasoning. As a result, internees strengthened their understanding of evidence-based practice. They also improved their ability to apply theoretical knowledge in real-life situations. Additionally, regular discussions and case presentations helped refine their communication and analytical skills.
Moreover, the program emphasized continuous learning and professional development. Internees were encouraged to ask questions and explore new treatment approaches. Consequently, they developed confidence in their clinical abilities. Their progress was closely monitored by experienced supervisors, ensuring high-quality training throughout the program.
In recognition of outstanding performance, the Best Internee Certificate was awarded to Abu Huraira Mustafa. This achievement reflects dedication, hard work, and excellence in clinical practice. It also serves as motivation for other students to strive for excellence.
