Good health starts with nutrition. Rehman Medical Institute offers inpatient and outpatient dietetic services that are led by hardworking and qualified dieticians. Diet Clinic at RMI offers appropriate nutrition advice and information to the clients and patients. Our aim is to use nutrition and food science to help people improve their health.

OUT PATIENT SERVICES:

Diet plays a vital role in developing, managing and preventing diseases. At RMI, a professional team of dieticians at the diet clinic, monitor, assess and optimize nutritional status based on the patient’s current medical condition and nutritional adequacy.
Dieticians assess patients in making proper food choices, answering questions and making suggestions regarding ways to prepare healthy and delicious meals.
Nutritional counselling can help lower the chances of health problems. Adopting a healthy lifestyle changes and improving your nutrition can help reduce the risk factors that lead to illness.
The Diet Clinic provides a wide range of dietary treatments in different areas of the hospital including:

  • Paediatrics
  • Cardiac patients
  • Diabetes management
  • Cancer management
  • Gastrointestinal management
  • Kidney management
  • Food allergies or intolerances
  • Nutritional deficiencies
  • Weight loss or weight gain

OPD services are available between 10:00AM to 01:00PM and 03:00PM to 06:00PM, Monday to Friday.

IN PATIENT SERVICES:

Our team of professional dieticians caters the needs of inpatients who require special nutritional support through alternative feeding regimes such as enteral or parenteral nutrition.
Malnutrition is common in hospital patients, the dieticians at RMI use a range of assessment techniques to create and review nutritional plans for these patients. The aim of the treatment is to improve nutritional status to aid recovery and to control damaging biochemistry of the patients. Patients with the need to continue the dietetic services after their discharge from hospital are provided planned dietary chart for proper care at home.

For INPATIENTS

For inpatients, the hospital has room service arrangement which emulates fine hotels food services. The cafeteria timings are 07:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Orders for food can be requested directly to cafeteria. Patient can order breakfast for next day before the closing of the cafeteria in the evening. Special orders for meals can be placed which may require a little longer time than the normal serving.

For VISITORS

RMI has another cafeteria on the eastern end of hospital, operational from 06:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. The cafeteria serves a variety of food to hospital staff, visitors and patient attendants with in the cafeteria premises.
