RMI, in collaboration with the International Society of Limb Salvage (ISOLS), successfully hosted an exclusive Musculoskeletal Oncology Course on April 16–17, 2025. The intensive two-day program was designed to strengthen clinical expertise in tumor surgery and limb salvage techniques.
The course brought together orthopaedic, general, and plastic surgery residents, along with early-career consultants, creating a dynamic environment focused on skill development, academic excellence, and collaborative learning. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions, case-based learning, and hands-on sessions aimed at improving outcomes in musculoskeletal oncology.
We were deeply honored by the presence of David Wood, a globally recognized authority in musculoskeletal oncology, limb salvage, and advanced reconstructive surgery. With an exceptional academic and clinical background linked to institutions such as St. Thomas’ Hospital, Harvard University, and the University of Florida, Prof. Wood delivered invaluable insights grounded in international best practices.
During a workshop attended by over 100 orthopaedic professionals, Prof. Wood provided expert guidance, practical strategies, and mentorship that significantly enriched the learning experience. His reflections on his time at RMI highlighted the immense potential for growth and innovation in orthopaedics within the region.
The event marked another milestone in RMI’s commitment to advancing surgical education, fostering global collaboration, and shaping the future of musculoskeletal oncology in Pakistan.
