Supervised DPT Clinical Practice Program at RMI for Students

DPT Clinical Practice

The Physical Therapy Department at Rehman Medical Institute (RMI) has successfully concluded a one-month Supervised DPT Clinical Practice (SCP) program for students. Participants joined the program from Sarhad University as well as several institutions across Balochistan. The initiative aimed to provide practical clinical exposure and strengthen the professional skills of future therapists.

Throughout the program, students received valuable hands-on training in both Inpatient Department (IPD) and Outpatient Department (OPD) settings. This experience allowed them to observe real patient cases, participate in clinical assessments, and better understand the practical aspects of physiotherapy. As a result, students were able to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world clinical practice.

The training was conducted under the mentorship of Dr. Muhammad Bin Afsar Jan, Head of the Physical Therapy Department and Dean of Allied Health Sciences. With the guidance of our experienced faculty members, students were introduced to modern rehabilitation techniques and evidence-based treatment approaches. Moreover, the faculty ensured that students learned how to apply clinical reasoning while managing patients with different physical conditions.

In addition, the program emphasized the importance of evidence-based practice and patient-centered care. Students were encouraged to evaluate each patient’s condition carefully and design rehabilitation plans tailored to individual needs. This approach not only improves treatment outcomes but also strengthens communication between healthcare professionals and patients.

Furthermore, the SCP program focused on building practical clinical skills, professional ethics, and teamwork. Students worked closely with healthcare teams, observed interdisciplinary collaboration, and learned how to handle clinical responsibilities effectively. Such exposure helps young professionals gain confidence and prepares them for the challenges of real healthcare environments.

Programs like these play an important role in shaping the future of healthcare. By providing structured clinical training, institutions like RMI contribute to the development of competent and compassionate healthcare professionals. The experience gained during this program will help students advance their careers and deliver high-quality care to patients in the future.

We sincerely commend the students for their dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment to learning throughout the program. Their eagerness to gain knowledge and develop practical skills was truly inspiring. At the same time, we take great pride in supporting the education and professional growth of the next generation of physical therapists.

At RMI, we remain committed to promoting clinical excellence, professional training, and healthcare education. Initiatives like the Supervised Clinical Practice program demonstrate our dedication to strengthening healthcare services by investing in the training of future medical professionals.
