Rheumatology

The Rheumatology Department of RMI employs specialists dedicated to providing superior healthcare to patients afflicted with a diverse range of rheumatic conditions.
Rheumatology is a subspecialty of medicine that focuses on diagnosing and managing disorders affecting the musculoskeletal system, including the joints, bones, and muscles. Furthermore, it also covers the treatment of autoimmune diseases, which initially present with musculoskeletal symptoms but can involve other organs including brain, kidneys and lungs.
Rheumatologic conditions are a significant source of chronic disability on a global scale. The most frequently encountered joint affliction that Rheumatologists address is Rheumatoid Arthritis, which results in tenderness, swelling, and rigidity in the small joints of the hands and feet.
If left untreated, Rheumatoid Arthritis can lead to joint deformity and long-term disability. Appropriate management is essential in order to avoid such complications.
The Rheumatology Department of RMI employs a wide range of specialists dedicated to providing superior healthcare to patients afflicted with a diverse range of rheumatic conditions, from simple musculoskeletal pain to more complex autoimmune illnesses such as rheumatoid arthritis, gout, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, lupus, and vasculitis.
