World Mental Health day '17
Rehman Medical Institute Peshawar (RMI) hosted the annual conference on World Mental Health Day on 10th October. The theme in focus was ‘Mental Health in the Work Place’. The conference was organized by RMIs Department of Psychology and was attended by notables in the field of psychology. Conference attending from the US were Mr. Adam Dreyfus (Director of Sarah Dooley Center for Autism) and Dr. Theodore A. Hoch (George Mason University, Virginia).
All the guests spoke on various aspects of Mental Health and its significance in the workplace. Ideas and theories were presented on how the mental health of a workforce needs to be kept healthy. In doing so, the organization witnesses how the employees become more productive and efficient. This not only benefits them but also the organization they work for resulting in mutual beneficence.
After lunch, workshops were organized on various topics such as ‘Crisis Prevention and De-escalation for People with Disabilities’ and ‘Assessing Signs and Symptoms of Psychopathology in People with Disabilities’. The conference ended on a high note with a gala dinner and a musical night hosted by the RMI Marketing team on the premises of the institute.
