Center For Blood Diseases
A new addition to the Department of Pathology at RMI is the 8-bedded Center for Blood Diseases, where ambulatory blood transfusion services are provided to needy children suffering from Thalassemia, Leukemia and other diseases requiring transfusions on a regular basis. The service is open to unregistered patients and is essentially free except for nominal day care charges. Additionally, other blood transfusion components including platelets are also provided on a day care basis. Complete provision of essential emergency medical care is available in case of any complications encountered during transfusions. The services are availed by 3-4 children on a daily basis.
