Dr. Muhammad Rehman hails from village Budhni, a small village 10 km east of Peshawar. Studied in famous Islamia College Peshawar and earned an MBBS degree from Khyber Medical College Peshawar in 1967, and did fellowship in cardiac surgery from The Royal College of Edinburg in 1975. He served as cardiac surgeon in NICVD Karachi for 28 years and retired from there as Professor.
His 28 years of service in Karachi could not satisfy Dr. Rehman himself, feeling his mission of serving humanity was not fully accomplished. It was his lifelong dream to present a gift to the people of K.P. the province of his birth.
The gift in the shape of the Rehman Medical Institute was to provide “quality healthcare services” to the people of the region and employment opportunity to hundreds of families. In 1991, during his practice he laid the foundation of RMI and thus in early 2002, Professor M. Rehman moved to his hometown, Peshawar, to devote the remaining part of his career to serving the ailing humanity through the Rehman Medical Institute.
